Fireless S’mores!

So…I can’t have a fire because it’s a) dangerous because it’s so dry and b) I don’t have an outdoor fireplace (yet). This fun to do with little kids and a great snack.

And how to make a s’mores minus the fire.

You will need:

  1. A paper bowl
  2. Marshmallows
  3. Hersey’s Chocolate Bar
  4. Graham Crackers
  5. A microwave

HOW TO:

  • Place your chocolate then marshmallows then another bar of chocolate on top.
  • Microwave for 15 seconds, ENJOY!

*be careful to not let the marshmallows explode :)*

Snacks I love!

1. Bahama Breeze Mix from The Fresh Market is so tasty! I LOVE dried fruit and cashews, so this is perfect for me. I especially love the dried coconuts and kiwi! It’s a great energy source and filled with protein!

 

2.  Indulgent Trail Mix. I was NOT a huge trail mix girl, until I tried this. This is the BEST trail mix on this planet. It has White, Peanut Butter and Chocolate Chips, Peanuts, almonds, and golden raisins. It’s the best. And you can get it at Walmart.

 

3. These Brookside Dark Chocolate Goji Berries are great to have as a light snack if you want something sweet. If Goji berry isn’t your style, try the Acai Berry flavor. They are good and low calorie!

 

4. KIND Bars are the best! My favorite flavor is Dark Chocolate and Cherry but there a multitude of flavors! The granola bars are packed with protein and will keep you filled!

 

5. Pirate’s Booty Popcorn…I know it sounds weird but it’s one of my FAVORITE snacks! It is SO GOOD. You can buy this at Smoothie King (I love to eat it with my Banana Berry Treat smoothie) Kroger and Fresh Market. It comes in a few flavors, Cheddar, Cheddar Jack and other. I like the White Cedar kind.

 

6. Propel, a sports water, is great for after workouts! It’s very low calorie and has a wide array of flavors! My personal favorite is Lemon and all Propels are slightly fizzy.

 

7. I get these PowerCrunch Bars from Smoothie King (I love that place, I go there A LOT). These are great to have for a morning snack or breakfast. They really keep my going during busy days. I love the Mint Chocolate Flavor but there are others to choose from, like Strawberry and Vanilla.

Cranberries Sauce(Writing101 Day 10)

Cranberries and Honey-baked Ham…only eaten on special occasions…like Christmas.
Whenever I had Honey-baked ham…it always came wrapped in a red aluminum foil…

On Christmas, my family doesn’t do the “traditional” turkey but ham or lamb….and cranberry sauce….

Cranberry sauce always tastes so bitter and sweet…I remember when I was little at my uncle’s house for Thanksgiving…..cranberry sauce brings me back.

French Toast Rolls

French2I found these delicious French Toast Rolls on Pinterest and decided to make them myself for Mother’s Day and my younger sister’s birthday. I’m not the best cook ever but these are super easy to make and take less than 30 minutes to make. This recipe makes 6-8 servings.
You will need:

  • 2 eggs
  • Loaf or white bread, Bunny works the best
  • Nutella, Apple Butter, Strawberries and/or Peanut Butter
  • 1-1.25 Cups of Granulated sugar(organic or not, doesn’t matter)
  • Tbs of Cinnamon
  • Tsp of Nutmeg
  • Dash of Ginger
  • A bowl, I HIGHLY recommend one with a flat bottom
  • Oven pan
  • Cooking spray
  • 4 large plates
  • Butter Knife
  • Tongs
  • A few spoons
  • IMG_7590  1. Cut or tear off all of the crusts on the white bread; make sure that all of the pieces are square-like as possible.
  • IMG_7592 2. Using whichever filling you choose, (I’m using apple butter) spread it onto the bread. Some of my favorite fillings are: Nutella and strawberries or peanut butter and Nutella.
  • IMG_7593 3. Roll the bread up-FILLING SIDE UP.
  • IMG_7594 4. Pour all of the spices(cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg and sugar) onto a large plate.
  • IMG_7595 5. Mix all the spices together VERY WELL.
  •  IMG_7596 6. Crack the eggs into a bowl(once again I HIGHLY recommend a flat bottom bowl), mix well.
  • 7.  Drop the rolls into the egg mixture, rolling them around until they are covered with egg. The best thing to do is use your hands, trust me, it gets messy. TIP: do NOT let the rolls sit in the egg for too long, they  WILL  get soggy and soak up extra egg and you’ll have less egg to work with.
  • 8.  Using the tongs, take the roll out of the eggs and roll it in the sugar, covering it as much as possible.
  • 9. Then place the roll onto the pan, (SPRAY THE PAN WITH PAM BAKING SPRAY FIRST!)
  • 10. Repeat steps 7-9 with the rest of the rolls
  • 11. Coat the tops of the rolls with sugar before placing them into the oven.
  •  IMG_759712. Put them into oven on Med-High Broil (0r just broil if  your oven doesn’t have those settings.) Watch them bake for about 7-10 minutes or until the sugar starts to darken and/or the bread turns golden brown.
